Sound Correction for Children

Our sound correction service is designed to address articulation problems and help children develop clear, accurate, and fluent speech.

At our center, the speech therapist works with children to correctly pronounce challenging sounds (R, L, S, SH, ZH, CH, and others) that are often replaced, distorted, or omitted in young children’s speech.

Indications for sound correction:

❆  rhotacism (difficulty pronouncing the “R” sound),

❆  lisping,

❆  replacing sounds with others (e.g., saying “sapka” instead of “shapka”),

❆  omitting sounds in words,

❆  unclear or slurred speech.

How the process works:

❆  The speech therapist conducts an assessment to identify problematic sounds.

❆  Sessions include articulation exercises to train the speech organs.

❆  The correct pronunciation of the target sound is taught.

❆  The sound is practiced in syllables, words, and phrases.

❆  The skill is reinforced in connected speech.

All sessions are play-based, using mirrors, flashcards, pictures, and other speech therapy materials to make learning engaging and fun.
